What stays on your device
Red Lines stores saved boundaries, completed-scenario markers, check-in answers and scores, weekly plans, reminder settings, diary entries, recoverable diary drafts, saved links, and imported photos or videos in its local app storage. Scenario choices are temporary. The app does not create an account or use advertising, analytics, tracking, or a developer-operated server. We do not receive your relationship content.
Protection and access
Saved files use iOS file protection and are excluded from automatic device backups. Optional App Lock uses the system's biometric or device-passcode authentication; Red Lines does not receive biometric data or your passcode. Content is covered when the app becomes inactive. Someone who can access the unlocked app can read its contents. These protections do not prevent a person from sharing, photographing, or recording information they can access.
Apple Intelligence
On supported devices and system versions, Talk it through can use Apple's on-device language model. Red Lines does not send these prompts to a cloud model. Your check-in summary is included only if you choose. The conversation is temporary and clears when you leave that screen. Guided exercises remain available when the model is unavailable. AI suggestions can be inaccurate; they are educational reflection, not professional advice.
Photos, files, links, and sharing
You select media through Apple's system pickers. The app copies selected media into its private storage. Selecting an iCloud or other provider file may download it through that provider. Links are stored without automatically fetching previews. Opening a link uses an external app or website with its own privacy practices. Sharing happens only through your explicit action; the selected destination then controls the shared copy.
Notifications
Optional daily reminders are scheduled locally through iOS. Discreet text is the default. If you turn that option off, the full quote and app name may appear on your lock screen. Personal diary and check-in content is never included. iOS notification and Focus settings affect delivery.
Manual backups
Backup & restore lets you export a folder containing your saved relationship data and all diary media, including drafts and Recently Deleted. App Lock and notification settings are not exported. You choose the destination in Files, including On My iPhone or iCloud Drive if available. Red Lines does not provide automatic cloud sync or an app login. Exported backups are not password-encrypted by Red Lines; protect the destination and avoid shared folders. Apple or another selected storage provider applies its own terms and privacy practices.
Retention and deletion
Saved data stays until you delete it. Diary items in Recently Deleted remain until permanently removed. In Care, Delete all saved data clears saved relationship records, diary drafts and media, and daily reminders. Deleting the app removes its local data. Exported backups and copies shared elsewhere remain outside the app; delete those separately from their destinations. Restoring a backup can bring back content contained in that backup.
